Buckinghamshire offers you beautiful countryside and areas of natural beauty. This includes the Chiltern Hills, River Thames, The Ridgeway Path and many landscaped gardens. It also has many historic houses run by the National Trust which are open to the public. Some of these are Waddesdon Manor, West Wycombe Park and Cliveden. These are suitable for tours, weddings or parties etc.
Some other historic houses are still in use as private homes, such as the Prime Minister’s country retreat Chequers. Buckinghamshire is also home to various famous people in connection with whom tourist attractions have been set up. One of these is the author Roald Dahl who included many local features and characters in his stories.
Silverstone circuit is also partly in Bucks where the famous yearly F1 race is held attended by thousands. The county is also home to the world famous Pinewood Studios where the Bond film.
Dorney Lake which is a beautiful location was used as a rowing venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
